Sample Teaching Video
The video below is a short clip from my practicum experience in Spring 2015. The class I am teaching is ENGL 81/82/83 - Advanced English Language. The portion of the video displayed below is an introduction to the sociology unit I taught during my practicum. Previously, the students had been annotating an article that was read in class. After finishing group posters for sections of the reading, we began a discussion on sociology. The discussion continues and I ask them what cities they are from. Students begin describing their hometowns and we discuss the subtle differences. Towards the end of our discussion, I introduce an activity. Students were to write opinions, thoughts, and facts on each poster paper. On each poster, there were two subjects for students to comment on. Once students had gone around to each poster and written something, we discussed the similarities and differences.
